About us

SIMON'S TOWN 2008 SIMON'S TOWN 2008

in 2008 during the Cape Town stop-over of the inaugural Global Ocean Race, Josh Hall set up and organised a day with Izivunguvungu in Simon's Town. That day, described by a number of the skippers as the most "rewarding" of the race, was the inspiration for the founding of Global Vision Sailing Trust. GVST was developed out of a desire to help those less fortunate than ourselves. The base idea and concept was for sailors, their sponsors, suppliers and anyone connected with sailing to give something, no matter how small, back to those who have literally nothing.

Since then GVST and Izivunguvungu have agreed to work in partnership for the 2011 GOR stop-over.

GVST relies exclusively on volunteer help. And remember, a little goes a long way.

We're always happy to welcome new volunteers who would like to dedicate some of their time to charity. If you'd like to lend a hand, please don't hesitate to contact us, new members are always welcome.
